Unsecured Collections Department

Call centre environment dealing with calls from existing customers who have credit card arrears
The department has 500 people working in it
The opening hours are 8am-9pm Monday-Thursday, 8am-8.30pm Friday, 8am-4.30pm Saturday and 9am-2pm Sunday

The Role

The role of the Collections specialist is purely telephone based dealing with inbound and outbound calls from existing customers with credit card arrears
Collections specialists will be required to negotiate payment plans with customers over the telephone for the outstanding arrears or take payment for the full amount of the outstanding arrears
Collections specialists will be using the in house pc system to check and input information about customers arrears
The hours of work are 35 per week
You would be working in teams of 12 with a Team Manager for each team

Training

The first four weeks of the role will be training and the hours of the training will be 9am-5pm Monday-Friday
The first four weeks of training concentrate on learning about company procedures, data protection, systems, health and safety, money laundering and weeks 3 and 4 of training will be spent making and receiving calls whilst supported by the training team
On completion of the four weeks training, collections specialists then go into the academy for around another 4 weeks. The length of time spent in the academy depends on the candidates circumstances, such as if they are going away on holiday and will miss some of the training in the academy. Whilst in the academy, they are in teams of 5 supported by a trainer. During this time Collections specialists will be doing the role but will have extra support.

Other Issues

Car parking is very limited on site so public transport would be advisable
For this reason there is a free mini bus which runs from Lovell Park to the Leeds city train station.
